Highway 1 to be detoured in Langley starting tomorrow night for up to 4 nights

LANGLEY – Motorists travelling in either direction of Highway 1 this week should expect an overnight traffic diversion for up to four consecutive nights as contractors look to safely demolish an existing structure at 264 Street in Langley.

In a statement, the B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Transit says eastbound and westbound Highway 1 traffic will be detoured at the 264 Street interchange’s on-ramps and off-ramps starting Thursday night, Sept. 10 at 11 p.m. until 4:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 14.

The province says this traffic-pattern change is necessary to allow the Ministry of Transportation and Transit’s contractor to safely demolish the existing 264th Street structure.

This work is a key component of the Fraser Valley Highway 1 Corridor Improvement Program, which aims to reduce congestion, improve safety and ensure reliable transportation through the Fraser Valley.
