Ainslie Creek TNRD wildfire evacuation alerts downgraded to All Clear

FRASER CANYON — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District has downgraded the final Evacuation Alert issued for the Ainslie Creek wildfire to All Clear.

The notice removes Evacuation Alerts for the final 248 addressed properties in Electoral Areas “I” (Blue Sky Country), “M” (Beautiful Nicola Valley-North) and “N” (Beautiful Nicola Valley-South).

Only three Evacuation Alerts still remain in effect for the wildfire. The Coldwater Indian Band, Nooaitch Indian Band and Spuzzum First Nation alerts remain active.  There are no Evacuation Orders in place for the wildfire.

The Ainslie Creek wildfire was discovered July 4 and burned more than 677 square kilometres. It also closed Highway 1 through the Fraser Canyon for much of the summer.
