CHILLIWACK — An upcoming festival is set to bring the City of Light’s flavours and elegance to the Fraser Valley this September, and for a good cause.

The BC Tasting Festival is back in Chilliwack on Saturday, September 26, for “Rouge + Rêve: One Night in Paris” – bringing together Paris-themed food and drink from restaurants, wineries, live entertainment and more.

“BC Tasting Festival is about much more than what’s in your glass,” says Christine Hadvick, festival executive director.

“It’s about bringing people together, celebrating the incredible talent we have here in British Columbia, and creating an experience that gives back to our community. This year, we’re adding a little Parisian magic to the evening, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone.”

Participating businesses include the Lakeside Beach Club, Hofstede’s Country Barn and Marais Tea Co. & Café Marais.

The Rotary Hall Theatre will also be transformed into a Moulin Rouge-inspired space, featuring live music throughout the evening.

Proceeds from the festival will go towards supporting the Chilliwack Academy of Music’s Kids+Music to help provide better access to music education, scholarships and instruments to children in need.

“Every ticket, sponsorship and partnership helps turn one special evening into opportunities for children and young people throughout our community,” says Marcy  Reimer, operations director for the Academy.

“That is what makes this festival so meaningful. We get to celebrate together while helping bring more music into more lives.”

The festival is set to be held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. Tickets are available through the box office or online through the Centre’s website.
