BOSTON BAR – Two massive wildfires in the Fraser Canyon that grew to over 75,000 hectares combined at one point this summer are now being held.

According to an update posted to its website, the BC Wildfire Service says the Ainslie Creek wildfire near Boston Bar has been designated as being held. It’s also no longer considered a wildfire of note, which is meant to make it easier to find on its online map and access response information.

The wildfire service says the Ainslie Creek wildfire, which is measured at around 67,722.48 hectares in size, is currently projected to remain within its current perimeter based on fuel and weather conditions and resource availability.

The nearby Brunswick Creek fire, estimated at 9,266.86 hectares, is also being held.
