The incident was one of 157 calls for service that Hope RCMP fielded for the week of Monday, August 24 through Sunday, Aug. 30.

In another notable incident this past week, police say a man reported being assaulted on Fraser Avenue after confronting a youth he suspected was testing door handles on vehicles to see which vehicles were unlocked.

Attending officers located the victim and a youth who had been restrained by a bystander. Police say the youth was observed yelling, struggling, and showing signs of impairment. He resisted arrest but was eventually taken into custody.

The victim had injuries and required medical treatment. The youth, who was not injured, is scheduled to appear in court at a later date, Cpl. Kiener said.
