CHILLIWACK – Police in Chilliwack hope to obtain any new information or tips related to the suspicious disappearance of a woman who was last seen in Chilliwack two years ago but whose body was tragically found later along the Fraser River in Mission.

Chilliwack RCMP Corporal Carmen Kiener says 53-year-old Tania Langley was reported missing on September 5, 2024, after she was last seen in Chilliwack on August 29, 2024.

On September 17, 2024, Tania Langley was found deceased along the Fraser River in Mission, Cpl. Kiener said.

Corporal Carmen Kiener says investigators have pursued numerous leads for the past two years and continue to believe the circumstances surrounding Tania’s disappearance are suspicious. The investigation into her suspicious disappearance and death remains active. As a result, Chilliwack RCMP are asking anyone with information to come forward.

“Information, no matter how minor it may seem, could help advance the investigation and provide long-awaited answers to Tania’s family and loved ones,” Cpl. Kiener.

Police released a heartfelt statement from the family of Tania Langley.

“Tania was deeply loved and is profoundly missed by her family. She was a daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness and generosity touched everyone who knew her. Tania always put others before herself and had a remarkable ability to make people feel cared for and supported,” the family said in a statement through police.

The family added: “The loss of Tania has left an immeasurable void in our lives, and we continue to grieve her absence every day. As we mark two years since her disappearance, we are asking anyone with information about what happened to her to come forward. No matter how small it may seem, that information could help provide answers and bring a measure of closure to those who loved her. We remain hopeful that someone may have information that can assist investigators.”

Police say Langley was a Caucasian female standing 5’1″ (155 cm), weighing about 90 pounds, who had short brownish-grey hair and green eyes.

At the time of her disappearance, Langley was driving a red Ford Ranger and was known to have ties to Chilliwack, Abbotsford, and Mission. She also had a tattoo on her arm with vines, flowers and her children’s names.

Investigators are asking anyone who saw Langley, her vehicle, or who might have information about her movements prior to her disappearance to contact the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 and reference file 2024-38983.
