Entrepreneur, foster parent to seek seat on Chilliwack Board of Education

CHILLIWACK – A longtime Chilliwack resident, entrepreneur, and foster parent who served on the Chilliwack District Parent Advisory Council has announced he will run for school board this fall.
A long-time resident since 1985, husband, father and foster parent for 35 years, Cary Moore and his wife raised 64 foster children and adopted four kids, including two brothers high on the FASD spectrum and a daughter with complex special needs. They have two biological children who are now in their thirties with families of their own. Based on their lived experience, Cary and his wife have been strong advocates for inclusion and parental support.
Moore was part-owner of Valley Water, a local water-delivery company, and later owned Rocky Mountain Water Systems, which designed and installed water-purification plants across North America, Australia, Saudi Arabia and the Philippines.
In those years, Moore says he hired many young people right out of high school, something he concedes was his first real contact with the next generation entering the workforce. That experience informed his belief that education must be grounded in competence and merit, not ideology or identity checkboxes.
