Impaired excavator operator busted by Chilliwack RCMP

CHILLIWACK – The operator of an excavator in Chilliwack got themselves into a deep rut after being busted for impairment on the job.

Chilliwack RCMP received a report of a possible impaired driver operating an excavator on Farmers Way, a newer housing subdivision in Eastern Hillsides, on Thursday, July 30.

Officers attended and located the driver who was displaying signs of impairment.

An investigation resulted in the driver being issued a 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition, and the excavator was impounded for 30 days.

“While excavators are designed for digging holes, impaired driving can quickly dig you into one of your own,” police said. “No matter what you drive, make the safe choice and never drive impaired.”
