Fraser Valley Today reached out to a postal carrier in the greater Chilliwack area and learned that mail delivery had occurred yesterday, despite Canada Post’s claim Tuesday morning that it had suspended mail delivery due to poor air quality stemming from regional wildfires. Canada Post sent a media advisory at 11:32 a.m. Tuesday morning about the red service alert.

A Canada Post mail carrier vehicle was also seen driving in the vicinity of Keith Wilson Road and Unsworth Road Wednesday morning.

Air quality remains a factor in Chilliwack and the surrounding communities. As of 4:48 p.m. Tuesday, the Fraser Valley Regional District says an orange Air Quality Warning (very high health risk) has been issued for the Eastern Fraser Valley (Agassiz, Chilliwack, Hope).
