Canada Post downgrades service alert for Chilliwack, as mail delivery is no longer suspended
CHILLIWACK – Canada Post says it has downgraded yesterday’s red service alert that was previously issued for Chilliwack.
In an updated statement Wednesday morning (Aug. 5), Canada Post now says a yellow service alert pertains to Chilliwack, meaning mail delivery is no longer suspended, but delays could occur.
“Wildfires and poor air quality are affecting mail and parcel delivery in parts of British Columbia. Canada Post is putting emergency measures in place to best serve residents of these communities and keep them connected,” Canada Post wrote in a statement sent to Fraser Valley Today.
Chilliwack, Abbotsford, Mission and Hope all have yellow service alerts in place.
