CHILLIWACK – A local business owner, community leader and resident of 55 years will run for a seat on Chilliwack City Council in this fall’s municipal election.

Steve Czeck, the CEO of Empyrion Technologies, says he wants to give back to a community that has shaped his and his family’s life.

“Chilliwack has given so much to my family over the years,” Czeck said. “I have had the privilege of growing up here, raising my family here, and building a business here. I believe now is the time to contribute more directly to shaping our city’s future.”

Czeck brings 37 years of experience in the information technology sector, an industry where analytical thinking, problem solving and responsible decision making have been essential to his career.

For over two decades, Czeck has worked closely with small and medium-sized businesses throughout the Fraser Valley, giving him a keen understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing local entrepreneurs. He also brings an appreciation for Chilliwack’s agricultural heritage through family ties that date back to the late 1930s.

His community leadership includes service on several boards, including seven years with Mutual Fire Insurance of British Columbia, two years with the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce, and 12 years on the board of City Life Church.

If he is elected this fall, Czeck says his priorities will include fair and balanced decision-making, fiscal responsibility, supporting strong families and communities.

He believes council decisions should be transparent, sustainable, and focused on the long-term well-being of residents.

“I am committed to listening, learning, and working collaboratively to help ensure Chilliwack remains a great place to live, work and raise a family,” he said. “I would be honoured to earn the support of Chilliwack residents.”

Based on his own experience working with Empyrion, Chilliwack Councillor Harv Westeringh believes Czeck will be a welcome addition to Chilliwack City Council.

“I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Steve Czeck since 2017 as his company has provided support for me in my work as a realtor. He runs his business with integrity and has always delivered as promised – there is no doubt in my mind he’d do the same for the residents of Chilliwack. I fully support him as a viable candidate for Chilliwack City Council,” Westeringh said.

Fraser Valley businessman Bill Boesterd, founder of Denbow Environmental Solutions, echoed Westeringh’s sentiments. “Steve is a well-respected business owner who has faithfully served clients throughout the Fraser Valley for many years. He understands people, business, responsibility, and the importance of serving a community well. More importantly, Steve is simply a good man – a faithful husband, a faithful father, a strong community supporter, and someone who genuinely cares about people. I am pleased to endorse Steve for City Council.”
