Canada’s Reyes wins judo gold on final day of Commonwealth Games
GLASGOW — Kyle Reyes and Coralie Godbout added a pair of judo medals to Canada’s tally as competition wrapped up Sunday at the Commonwealth Games.
Reyes captured gold in the men’s -100-kilogram division, defeating England’s Max Gregory 1-0 by ippon in the final.
The 32-year-old from Toronto moved one step up the podium after winning silver at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. He returned to competition in June after undergoing back surgery.
“I think Kyle was in a league of his own today,” coach Antoine Bouchard said. “He was never in any real danger, and he remained completely in control. He had a perfect day.
