Surrey Memorial Hospital opens new renal facility

SURREY — Patients with kidney concerns may now have better access to care in the region with the opening of a new renal facility at Surrey Memorial Hospital.
The recently opened facility is adding 21 new hemodialysis treatment stations, bringing the total to 60 in the hospital.
Surrey Hospitals Foundation supported the $85 million project with $1 million in donations, with the remaining balance from the B.C. government.
“People in Surrey and surrounding communities who rely on life-saving kidney care will benefit from this new renal facility,” said Health Minister Josie Osborne. “It’s an important step in our work to support a rapidly growing community, strengthen health services at Surrey Memorial Hospital and improve access to care across the province.”
