Man dies after police shooting at shopping centre in North Vancouver

NORTH VANCOUVER — British Columbia’s police watchdog says officers in Metro Vancouver shot and killed a man after he tried to get into a police vehicle and there was a confrontation.

The Independent Investigations Office of B.C. is investigating the shooting that happened Tuesday afternoon at a shopping centre.

RCMP say officers responded after receiving reports about a man with an edged weapon threatening the public inside a business.

The man then allegedly went outside and got into a vehicle and crashed into several parked vehicles, before police found him at a gas station at the mall.
