LANGLEY – The B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Transit says there will be overnight traffic diversions in both directions of Highway 1 through Langley starting this week.

In a statement, the province says the closures are necessary to finish concrete deck pours on the new 232 Street structure, and notes the work is a critical component of the Fraser Valley Highway 1 Corridor Improvement Program.

The diversions will occur on Highway 1 between Glover Road and 248 Street beginning Tuesday, June 23.

Eastbound Highway 1

Eastbound Highway 1 lane diversions will occur Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. The exit to 232 Street will close at 7:30 p.m. The lane diversions will occur again on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.

Westbound Highway 1

Westbound Highway 1 lane diversions will occur Friday, June 26, from 8:30 p.m. until 7 a.m.

The diversions will implement a highway crossover to allow traffic to flow in both directions in the westbound and then eastbound highway lanes. During the diversions, the exits to 232 Street will be closed. The on-ramps to Highway 1 will remain open. Work is weather dependent, so the exact timing of the diversions could shift.

The province says a reduced speed limit of 80 km/h will be in place. Drivers are asked to use caution, obey signage and traffic-control personnel, watch for roadside workers, and allow for additional travel time through the area when diversions are underway.
