CHILLIWACK — The message about the dangers of impaired driving and its legal and financial consequences just isn’t resonating with certain motorists in the greater Chilliwack area.

In the weekly traffic stats released by the Chilliwack-based detachment, Mounties with the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment removed 16 high-risk drivers from the road due to impaired driving for the week of January 2-9.

Those 16 drivers could now be on the hook for ticketing costs, vehicle towing fees, license suspension, and higher ICBC registration expenses.

RCMP also report that two motorists were removed due to prohibited driving, and another driver was caught for excessive speeding.
