Update: Power restored to over 5,600 in Hope; over 1,600 in Fraser Canyon, Lytton area still without power

UPDATE #2, 8:55 A.M.: Power has been restored to the 5,600-plus customers in Hope who lost power at about 6:45 a.m. this morning. The outage lasted about two hours.

However, there are still about 1,600 customers between Spuzzum and Lytton, and in Spences Bridge itself, who are still without power as of 8:55 a.m. Tuesday morning.

UPDATE #1, 8:35 A.M. TUESDAY: BC Hydro says crews are on their way to remediate the power outage. The cause of this morning’s power outage is transmission circuit failure.

Power is also out in most, if not all, of the Fraser Canyon, including Boston Bar, Spuzzum, Kanaka Bar, all of Lytton and most of Spences Bridge northeast of Lytton.

HOPE – Over 5,600 customers west, north and southeast of Hope have lost power Tuesday morning.

According to BC Hydro’s online dashboard, the outages started at approximately 6:45 a.m.

One outage is impacting 1,876 customers in Ruby Creek and Floods, Silver Creek, and much of downtown Hope.

The second of three current outages is affecting an area north and west of Highway 1, as well as Choate and Dogwood Valley. It’s affecting 1,994 customers.

The third outage is southeast of Hope and has left 1,744 customers without power in the Sunshine Valley and Highway 3 corridor.

There is no cause listed and no crews have been assigned, as of 7 a.m.
