RCMP officers respond to Harrison Lake after getting SOS from stranded boat
HARRISON LAKE – Mounties in Agassiz say they were able to assist a vessel on Harrison Lake after getting an SOS signal from the boat over the long weekend.
According to a statement from police, Agassiz RCMP responded to an SOS signal from a vessel on Harrison Lake after the boat experienced mechanical failure and was unable to restart. Six occupants were on board and reported to be in good spirits, police said.
Police say their officers responded quickly and successfully towed the vessel and its occupants to safety.
“Quick thinking and proper equipment can make all the difference in an emergency. In this case, an emergency call made from the operator’s cell phone contributed to a safe resolution,” police said.
