First responders called to crash at Yale/Hodgins in Chilliwack Monday

CHILLIWACK – First responders were called to Yale Road and Hodgins Avenue Monday around midday after a motor vehicle crash.

Firefighters and paramedics attended the busy intersection after a crash at approximately noon (May 18).

Scanner traffic indicated an ambulance and an ambulance supervisor attended.

Pictures from Chilliwack resident William Snow show significant damage to a white 4-door hatchback/SUV bearing the Modo car sharing brand. Multiple air bags were deployed. The vehicle suffered major front end damage.

Another vehicle believed to be involved in the collision, a Jeep SUV, did not appear to have as much damage.

Snow said he saw one person on the ground after the accident.

Firefighters and paramedics were present as a patient was placed on a gurney at the accident scene.

Scanner traffic indicated one patient was left in care of B.C. EHS paramedics to receive further medical treatment.

Both vehicles involved were towed, according to scanner traffic at 12:51 p.m. Firefighters alluded to a fluid spill on the roadway.
