Commercial vehicle hauling dumpsters crashes on Hwy. 1 in Chilliwack Thursday morning

CHILLIWACK – A commercial vehicle hauling dumpsters crashed on westbound Highway 1 near Yale Road in Chilliwack Thursday morning, leaping a concrete shoulder barrier and causing traffic congestion through the area.

First responders were notified about the traffic incident at approximately 9:24 a.m.

Chilliwack fire crews were dispatched to the area and told dispatch that there was debris scattered on the roadway and some diesel fuel spilled onto the roadway.

DriveBC posted at 9:35 a.m. that the right lane of Highway 1 was blocked.
