B.C. police watchdog seeks witnesses to October 2025 Langley arrest after suspect died in hospital

LANGLEY — The Independent Investigations Office of BC (IIO) is now seeking more information on a disturbance call arrest that ended with the suspect passing away the same night in Langley.

RCMP officers responded to the call shortly after 4 a.m. on October 1, 2025, about a man running through the halls inside a residential building on the 19800 block of 54 Avenue.

The man was found and arrested, but he went into medical distress shortly after being detained.

Firefighters and BC Emergency Health Services helped the man, who was then taken to hospital by ambulance.
