Female cyclist suffers life-threatening injuries after collision with pickup: Chilliwack RCMP

CHILLIWACK – A Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson says two cyclists were struck by a pickup truck on Young Road Thursday evening, resulting in a female cyclist being transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

According to a statement from Chilliwack RCMP Corporal Carmen Kiener, RCMP members were called to the 9100 block of Young Road after 6 p.m. Thursday (Apr. 9) for a report of a traffic collision between a cyclist and a pickup truck.

When police arrived, they discovered two cyclists had been involved in the collision.

Corporal Kiener says a female cyclist was taken to hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries, while a male cyclist was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
