Original story below:

LANGLEY — BC Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help in identifying a truck driver who failed to stop for police after hitting an overpass on Highway 1.

At 2:52 p.m. Thursday, March 19, police say a white, eastbound flatdeck truck with a crane boom struck the CP Rail overpass between Glover Road and 232nd Street in Langley.

“We know that the truck stopped briefly before leaving the scene, but the driver did not meet the legal obligation to wait for police or report the incident,” says Corporal Michael McLaughlin with BC Highway Patrol.

McLaughlin added that a small amount of damage was visible on the overpass, and the Ministry of Transportation and Transit had to be called in to ensure the structure’s safety.

Anyone who saw the overpass strike, who has dash-camera video of the white commercial flatdeck with a crane, or who has information about the driver, is asked to call BC Highway Patrol in Burnaby at 604-526-9744 and quote file number (1003) 2026-854.
