Rollover in Chilliwack sends 1 to hospital Wednesday night

CHILLIWACK – Chilliwack first responders were called to Highway 1 in Chilliwack Wednesday night after a motorist driving a white SUV crashed.

Chilliwack Fire crews, BC Ambulance Service paramedics and RCMP personnel responded to the area near Highway 1/Vedder Road on-ramp for a rollover at about 7:20 p.m. Wednesday (May 20).

The motorist was reportedly ejected from the vehicle.

Glass shards and other debris were present on the ground where the vehicle overturned.

Two BCEHS paramedics responded.

“BC Emergency Health Services spokesperson Peter Darbyshire received a call at 7:21 p.m. today for a motor vehicle incident at Highway 1 and Vedder Road and responded with two ambulances. Paramedics cared for and transported one patient to hospital in critical condition,” BCEHS spokesperson Peter Darbyshire told Fraser Valley Today in an email.
