Chilliwack Shred-A-Thon and food drive returns

CHILLIWACK — Residents are invited to bring their old documents down to the big shredder at the Chilliwack Coliseum today (June 12).

From 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., crews will be at the Coliseum parking lot off Ashwell Road for the City’s bi-annual Shred-A-Thon and Food Drive.

Each household is allowed up to 10 boxes of residential shredding materials, with all plastic covers or metal objects removed before drop-off or on-site.

Anyone with more than 10 banked boxes of material is asked to hold off until the next Shred-A-Thon or visit UPS Stores and Staples.

While not required, the City also asks folks to bring cash or non-perishable food items for the Salvation Army Food Bank.
