Burnaby RCMP respond to two threats in local high school this week

BURNABY — Police in Burnaby have been kept busy with unfounded threats at a local school this week.

Frontline officers responded to a report at Burnaby North Secondary School just after 1 p.m. on Monday, March 9.

RCMP cleared the school and did not believe the threat was credible.

A second report of a threat reached police on Thursday, just before 1 p.m. 

The school was temporarily placed on lockdown again, and police determined that the threat was not credible after clearing the building.

“This is the second such incident police have responded to this week at the school,” said Burnaby RCMP. “Both remain under active investigation by Burnaby RCMP, and officers are working to identify those responsible.”
