City of Mission uses cute video to remind residents not to cut down Christmas trees in its forest
MISSION — It’s nice to save a few bucks here and there, but it’s not worth interfering with Mother Nature and the forests that British Columbians appreciate and enjoy.
The City of Mission put out a friendly reminder Thursday morning (Dec. 1) in a funny but heartwarming video that Christmas tree cutting is not permitted in the Mission Municipal Forest.
“Our community depends on healthy and productive forests that provide so many benefits to Mission and local First Nations communities,” said Chris Gruenwald, Director of Forestry. “There are many great local Christmas tree farms where you can get a high-quality tree and support local businesses.”
At an incredible size of 10,900 hectares, the Mission Municipal Forest is 26 times the size of Stanley Park in Vancouver.
