New restaurant offering burgers, flame-grilled chicken slated to open east of Chilliwack

CHILLIWACK/POPKUM – A new restaurant offering burgers, flame-grilled chicken, butter chicken and more is set to open east of Chilliwack in a Popkum shopping centre.

According to a social media post from Abhi Patel, on behalf of the RNA Group, Burger Shack and Shack’s Flame Grilled Chicken is set to open Friday morning, May 29 at 10 a.m. at 4-52855 Yale Road in Popkum.

Under the title, “Grand Opening,” Patel said, “We’re excited to share big news – Burger Shack is growing, and we’d be happy to celebrate with you! Since you’ve been part of our community, we’d love for you to be among the first to step inside, meet our team, and taste the burgers you already love. Expect good food, friendly faces, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.”

Signs promoting the opening of Burger Shack and Shack’s Flame Grilled Chicken now appear on the exterior of the strip mall location.

The restaurant touts its burgers as being freshly made beef patties, seasoned to perfection and never frozen.

Burger Shack will also sell flame-grilled chicken, butter chicken, and salads.

There is an existing Burger Shack & Grill at 45800 Promontory Road in the Shoppers Drug Mart shopping centre near Vedder Road and Promontory Road.

Barcelos Flame Grilled Chicken previously operated in this Yale Road location, but mysteriously closed. A sign dated June 13, 2025, appeared on its main entrance. The sign read: “Sorry, we are closed for this month and will re-open soon. Going under renovation.”
