Chilliwack Mounties braving frigid waters in annual fundraiser for Special Olympics
CHILLIWACK — Officers and supporters are set to make a cold splash in Cultus Lake for a warm cause again this year.
Now in its fourth year, the annual Polar Plunge will see Chilliwack RCMP diving into frigid waters to raise $7,500 for the Special Olympics.
“The [event] raises vital funds and awareness to empower athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities and strengthen inclusion across our province,” read the fundraising page.
“Participating in the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics BC is an easy and fun way to make a difference by changing lives through the power of sport and opening hearts and minds to the abilities of people with intellectual disabilities.”
