Rezoning application could change look and feel of 6 downtown Chilliwack properties
CHILLIWACK – A rezoning application could change the look and feel of six properties in downtown Chilliwack, on which several retail stores currently sit.
According to the text of a city planning sign, the City of Chilliwack has received a rezoning application for properties at 46245, 46257, 46263, and 46267 Yale Road, and at 46118 and 46126 Victoria Avenue.
The rezoning application seeks to amend the text of the C9 (Mid Rise Apartment Commercial) zone to permit residential units on the same level as commercial units, and to rezone 5 of the 6 properties listed above, as well as rezoning a portion of 46245 Yale Road, from the CS1 (Service Commercial) and R5 (Low Rise Apartment) zones, to the C9 zone to facilitate the construction of a mixed-use commercial and residential development.
