CHILLIWACK – Study pods designed to give patrons a little more peace and quiet have arrived at two libraries in Chilliwack.

And while they’re not officially ready for use, the Fraser Valley Regional Library suggests the pods will be opening soon for patrons at the downtown Chilliwack and Sardis library locations.

Signs indicating the pods are under construction appear at both locations.

“We’re getting ready to welcome you! This single occupancy pod will reduce surrounding noise and create a comfortable space for reading, studying, focused work and more,” the library wrote on the signs.

There’s already a quiet study room at the Sardis library on Tyson Road where users can come and go at their leisure in a board room-like setting, but the study pod allows people to hunker down in a sort of cozy environment for a designated time.

“The pod will be available to book soon,” FVRL wrote on the sign.

The Sardis library pod is tucked away in the back of the library toward the north-facing wall, while the downtown Chilliwack library pod is located near the exit door.
