72-foot telecom tower proposed near entrance to Parr Road Green Depot in Chilliwack

CHILLIWACK — A telecom company hopes to construct a 72-foot high telecommunications antenna on a farm property near the entrance to the Parr Road Green Depot in Chilliwack.

According to a City of Chilliwack sign mounted at 45497 Yale Road, Terrion GP, c/o Cypress Land Services Inc., is proposing to build a 22-metre (72.1 feet) monopole tower along with an equipment cabinet at the base of the tower. The proposed tower will be located at 45497 Yale Road.

Telus appears to be involved in the project, as a rendering of the proposed telecom antenna suggests there will be a Telus lightning rod at the top of the monopole. Telus is mentioned twice in a tower elevation rendering on the City of Chilliwack sign.

Cypress Land Services, which is listed on the city sign, wrote on its website that it improves telecommunications for Canadians by partnering with companies and property owners to successfully acquire land rights and regulatory approvals.
