Windstorm repair closes Highway 1 through Coquitlam

VICTORIA — The safe repair of power lines along Highway 1, is forcing the closure of the busy roadway through Coquitlam this afternoon (Oct. 27). Highway 1 westbound is closed at Brunette Avenue while Highway 1 eastbound is closed at Gaglardi Way.

The lines were brought down during a large windstorm that raced across parts of the lower mainland this morning.

It’s not clear when the road will be re-opened, but the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure says repair crews are working as quickly as they can.
