New restaurant coming to Eagle Landing in Chilliwack, could open this month

CHILLIWACK — A new restaurant is slated to occupy the former Original Joe’s that closed around Christmas 2024 in the Eagle Landing shopping centre in Chilliwack.

Happy Jack’s Restaurant has signage outside unit 302, 8249 Eagle Landing Parkway, next to Sally Beauty Supply, heralding its arrival. It currently has a location on Vancouver Island in Parksville.

“We’re excited to announce that Happy Jack’s is expanding to the Fraser Valley!” Happy Jack’s wrote on its website. “Our new location at Eagle Landing Shopping Centre will bring the same great food, friendly service, and welcoming atmosphere that guests have come to love on Vancouver Island.”

Renovations are ongoing as the company hopes to open by the end of November.

“Renovations are underway, and we can’t wait to open our doors to the community. Follow us on social media for updates, sneak peeks, and opening announcements – and get ready to experience Northern Flavours, Island & Valley Hospitality,” it wrote on its website.

For lunch and dinner, Happy Jack’s will serve menu items like garlic dry ribs, pulled pork poutine, firetruck nachos, wings, salads, wraps, tonnes of different hamburgers, fish and chips, bangers and mash, baby back ribs and a 6-ounce steak sandwich. It will feature a full dessert menu as well.

Happy Jack’s says it previously opened in Chilliwack under a different branded restaurant name. Jordan Porth, owner of Happy Jack’s Restaurant in Parksville and the forthcoming restaurant here in Chilliwack, tells Fraser Valley Today his wife actually opened and operated the Original Joe’s that was located in Chilliwack for its first year before moving on and opening the Langley location.

The team behind Happy Jack’s says it is now hiring for all positions as it prepares to open its new location. Roles from dishwasher to general manager are available, offering opportunities for those eager to join a growing, family-run restaurant brand.
