ABBOTSFORD – Two youths illegally operating electric motorbikes in Abbotsford this past weekend thought they could get away from police during an attempted traffic stop, but wound up getting violation tickets for their ill-advised decision-making.

According to a statement from the Abbotsford Police Department, a member of the AbbyPD’s Traffic Enforcement Unit observed two youths operating electric motorbikes along Peardonville Road Saturday afternoon, Oct. 31, shortly after 2 p.m. The police officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the riders fled the area.

Roughly 10 minutes later, the same two youths were located along Marshall Road. Police say both riders were identified as youths and were issued violation tickets.

The electric motorbikes were subsequently towed to their residence, and the youths were transported home by the responding officer.
