UK-trained family doctor to launch practice in Chilliwack, welcome new patients

CHILLIWACK – A Chilliwack medical clinic is set to welcome a United Kingdom-trained family doctor this month who will be accepting new patients.

According to a statement sent to Fraser Valley Today by Chilliwack physician Dr. Gabriel Pekun, Gracelink Medical Clinic at 9136 Young Road in Chilliwack is pleased to welcome Dr. Evans C. Onwubiko, who will begin practicing in Chilliwack in October 2026.

Dr. Onwubiko brings broad clinical experience in comprehensive family medicine, acute and hospital medicine, geriatrics, frailty, palliative and ENT. He is committed to providing accessible, evidence-based and patient-centred care.

He completed his postgraduate family medicine training in the United Kingdom and holds membership in the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP), and a postgraduate diploma in Geriatric Medicine (DGM).

Gracelink Medical Clinic notes Dr. Onwubiko has particular interests in geriatrics, frailty and palliative care, while providing comprehensive care across all stages of life. The clinic says Dr. Onwubiko’s approach emphasizes preventive health, management of acute and chronic conditions, and coordinated care for patients with complex medical needs.

Dr. Onwubiko says he looks forward to serving patients and families in Chilliwack and working alongside local healthcare professionals to provide compassionate, high-quality primary care.

Chilliwack residents who need a family doctor are invited to contact Gracelink Medical Clinic at its number, 1-800-506-5041, or they can visit the clinic in person inside Heritage Pharmacy (9136 Young Road) to fill out an intake form.

Their clinic hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
