2 people injured after reported head-on collision on Hwy. 1 east of Chilliwack Tuesday night: RCMP

CHILLIWACK – Authorities say two people were transported to hospital following a reported head-on collision between Chilliwack and Hope Tuesday night.

A BC Emergency Health Services spokesperson said it received a call at 8:19 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6, about a motor vehicle incident on Hwy. 1 near Herrling Island.

“Two ambulances with primary care paramedics attended the scene. Paramedics provided emergency medical care and transported two patients to hospital in serious, but stable condition,” Brian Twaites, BC EHS Paramedic Public Information Officer, said in an email to Fraser Valley Today.

Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener told Fraser Valley Today in an email that RCMP members responded to a report of a head-on collision in the westbound lanes of Highway 1 Tuesday night.
