Abbotsford Regional Hospital opens new MRI suite

ABBOTSFORD — Some patients in the Fraser Valley may now have access to better imaging services with the opening of an upgraded MRI suite at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre.

The upgraded MRI was refurbished and stripped down to the magnet, cutting costs, carbon footprint and helium consumption. 

“I am excited that people in Abbotsford and the surrounding communities are getting answers to the care they need,” said Health Minister Ravi Kahlon. “The new, upgraded MRI suite means faster scanning, clearer images and a more comfortable experience for patients.”

The new MRI, Signa Artist 1.5 EVO MR30, uses artificial intelligence, improved imaging and advanced software to help clinicians see sharper images in areas that are typically harder to see – making detection and medical diagnosis easier.
