Over a dozen firefighters called to overnight structure fires in the Fraser Canyon (VIDEO)

BOSTON BAR/FRASER CANYON – Over a dozen firefighters from the Fraser Canyon and Hope were called to an overnight structure fire in the Fraser Canyon, with reports emerging online that there might have been additional fires.

Samantha Piper, communications manager for the Fraser Valley Regional District, confirmed to Fraser Valley Today in an email Tuesday morning that 16 firefighters were called to a fire (or fires) in the Fraser Canyon.

“This remains an active incident scene this morning,” Piper said. “At this time, we can confirm that 16 firefighters are on site; 5 from Boston Bar Fire Department, 7 from Yale Fire Department, and 4 from Hope Fire Department.”

Social media users from Fraser Canyon-area social media groups claimed there was at least one fire and that a home had been lost.
