Chilliwack Community Services to open new storefront location in Hope

HOPE – Chilliwack Community Services announced Tuesday morning that it will open a new storefront in downtown Hope this fall where residents and service providers in the eastern Fraser Valley and Fraser Canyon can connect and collaborate.

In a social media post Tuesday morning (Sept. 22), CCS says it’s been delighted to support communities throughout Hope and the Fraser Canyon for years and plans to solidify that partnership through this storefront opening.

“Big news! Chilliwack Community Services is opening a new downtown Hope storefront this fall,” CCS wrote on social media. “For years, we’ve been proud to support communities throughout Hope and the Fraser Canyon, all the way to Boston Bar, through programs like newcomer services, CCRR, LIP, and Juvee East. With this new space we are excited to strengthen our collaboration with the incredible organizations, partnerships, and community initiatives already rooted in Hope.”

CCS says it hopes it hopes to open the space as early as next month.

“We envision this space as a welcoming community hub where people and organizations can connect, collaborate, and better support local residents. Stay tuned for details about our October open house!” CCS said.

Founded in 1928, Chilliwack Community Services is a registered charitable society that provides a wide range of programs to people living within Chilliwack and surrounding neighbourhoods. On its website, CCS says it has played a leading role in contributing to strategic social service planning for the area. It has solid relationships with virtually all not-for-profit organizations, government societies, service clubs, church groups and community resources.

At the regional/provincial level, CCS is a contributing member of several social service networks and associations. Funding comes from contracts with provincial, federal and municipal governments, grants, fees for service and local service organizations. Personal donations, memberships, earned revenue and various fundraising efforts account for approximately 10 per cent of its total budget.
