Chilliwack youth racks up hundreds in fines for wheelies, dangerous e-dirt bike riding
CHILLIWACK – A Chilliwack youth e-dirt bike rider who was observed doing wheelies and reaching high speeds under the watchful eye of a Chilliwack police officer has racked up several hundreds of dollars in fines.
Chilliwack RCMP Corporal Carmen Kiener says a police officer observed an e-dirt bike travelling on Prairie Central Road this past week. Police did not identify the exact address, time and date of the infraction.
A traffic stop was conducted and the rider was identified as a youth holding a learner’s license, Cpl. Kiener said.
As a result of their dangerous driving, the youth received several violation tickets. They include driving contrary to restrictions ($109), driving without insurance ($598) and speeding ($138). The three fines total nearly $850.
