Paving work to begin today on Highway 1 between Chilliwack and Hope

HOPE – The provincial contractor tasked with maintaining highways and roads in the eastern Fraser Valley says paving work will commence on Highway 1 between Chilliwack and Hope starting today.

Beginning Monday, August 31, paving work will take place along the westbound section of Highway 1 from Exit 153 (Laidlaw Road) to Exit 170 in Hope, and on westbound Hwy. 3 from Exit 177 to Exit 171 in Hope, Emil Anderson Maintenance said.

Work is scheduled from Monday through Saturday and will continue over the next few weeks, weather and site conditions permitting, Emil Anderson Maintenance said.

As with any road construction project, motorists should expect construction activity, reduced speed limits, lane restrictions and possible delays.
