Back in February 2026, the city of Chilliwack awarded a tender to widen and improve the Chadsey Road intersection with Keith Wilson Road, calling it an “awkward” intersection where its concrete barriers were often struck and knocked over.

Councillors voted unanimously on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, to have Element Excavating Ltd. remediate the intersection of Chadsey Road and Keith Wilson Road.

Element Excavating Ltd. submitted the low bid of $219,958 to beat out eight other companies.

A city staff report indicates Chadsey Road approaches Keith Wilson Road at a skewed angle, which can create “awkward” turning movements requiring more space and time to complete the turn, especially for combination trucks and farm equipment.
