Lougheed Highway briefly closed overnight after train strikes vehicle: RCMP

MISSION – Police in Mission say Lougheed Highway was briefly closed overnight after a vehicle was struck by a train at a railway crossing on Highway 7 east of Mission.

In a statement, Mission RCMP says its members responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a train at the Lougheed Highway railway crossing near Hawkins Pickle Road, at approximately 1:30 a.m. overnight in Dewdney.

Mission RCMP and CPKC Railway personnel remained on scene at the collision to properly investigate while crews worked to clear the tracks.

The driver of the vehicle was able to exit before the train struck the vehicle and was not injured.
