Chilliwack post office hosts mail for Boston Bar evacuees
CHILLIWACK — Residents will have to get their mail in Chilliwack, as the Boston Bar area is now under evacuation due to the over-20,000-hectare Brunswick Creek wildfire complex.
Canada Post has issued a red service alert for Boston Bar on Thursday afternoon, July 16, as the fires are affecting mail and parcel delivery in town.
This means the local post office is closed, but evacuees can grab their mail at the Chilliwack Main Post Office with a valid government ID or authorization forms if someone else is collecting mail for them.
“B.C. Canada Post is putting emergency measures in place to best serve residents of this community and keep them connected,” said Canada Post. “We thank those affected for their patience during this difficult time.”
