Impaired male driver flees hit and run scene, crashes into Abbotsford front yard

ABBOTSFORD – Police in Abbotsford say the male driver of an SUV is facing criminal charges after he allegedly fled the scene of a hit and run and later crashed into an Abbotsford property over the weekend.

AbbyPD spokesperson Sgt. Paul Walker says day shift patrol officers were dispached Sunday (June 28) for a motor vehicle crash involving an impaired driver, who subsequently fled the scene and crashed into the front yard of a home at Blueridge Drive and Ridgeview Drive.

The male driver was arrested, and the breath sample he provided to police registered over 2.5 times the legal limit.

The criminal investigation is ongoing.
