Update: Intoxication a possible factor in Chilliwack-area dirt bike accident that sent 1 youth to hospital

UPDATE: Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener says police attended a dirt bike collision on Liumchen Creek FSR involving an adult rider and a youth passenger. Both suffered non-life-threatening injuries; however, the rider exhibited signs of intoxication, Cpl. Kiener said. The child was transported to hospital, and an impaired driving investigation remains open and ongoing.

CHILLIWACK RIVER VALLEY – First responders were called to the Chilliwack River Valley over the weekend after getting reports of a dirt bike accident.

Orna Daly, spokesperson for BC Emergency Health Services, says paramedics received a call at 12:08 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, for a motor vehicle incident on Liumchen Creek Forest Service Road in Chilliwack.

A supervisor, one advanced care paramedic and three primary care paramedics responded to the scene. Two patients received treatment and one was transported to hospital in stable condition.

Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener said the incident on Liumchen Creek FSR involved a collision of a dirt bike and injuries to a child who had to be taken to the hospital.

A landing zone was originally going to be set up at Thompson Regional Park, but it was later cancelled.
