SURREY — The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of B.C. (CFSEU-BC) has appointed RCMP Chief Superintendent Mandeep Mooker as its new chief officer.

Mooker joins CFSEU-BC from the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT), where he served as officer in charge. During his tenure, he expanded the organization from 110 to 164 employees to strengthen its capacity to investigate complex homicides across the province.

He brings more than 23 years of policing experience, including frontline operations, major crime investigations, organized crime enforcement and executive leadership.

Mooker began his RCMP career at the Burnaby detachment in 2003 and joined IHIT in 2008. He moved to CFSEU-BC in 2017, holding several senior leadership positions.

During his time with CFSEU-BC, he helped establish specialized capabilities, including the Anti-Trafficking Task Force, Counter Proliferation Unit and Criminal Records Review Unit.

Assistant Commissioner Will Ng, acting commanding officer of the B.C. RCMP, said Mooker has a proven record of leadership and experience managing complex investigations. “Under his direction, CFSEU-BC will continue to lead the way in disrupting gang activity and keeping communities safe, while working closely with our policing and public safety partners to strengthen our collective response to organized crime.”

Mooker said he looks forward to strengthening partnerships with municipal, provincial, federal and international law enforcement agencies. “This team is deeply committed to dismantling and supporting the prosecution of organized crime groups. I share that commitment.”

CFSEU-BC is Canada’s largest integrated police unit, with more than 450 sworn and civilian positions and 13 policing agencies. Its mandate is to target and dismantle organized crime groups that pose the greatest risk to public safety through gang violence.
