Rice, Caballero hit ninth-inning homers to power Yankees over Blue Jays 8-3
TORONTO — Ben Rice hit a two-run home run in the top of the ninth inning before Jose Caballero added a three-run bomb as the New York Yankees topped the Toronto Blue Jays 8-3 on Sunday afternoon.
Anthony Volpe drove in two runs and scored another for New York (43-27), which picked up its second straight victory after dropping Friday’s opener of the three-game set.
Camilo Doval (3-0) pitched a clean eighth in relief to get the win.
Davis Schneider hit a solo homer for Toronto (34-38). Braydon Fisher (2-2) took the loss in relief.
