Abbotsford man fined after driving more than double the speed limit in school zone

ABBOTSFORD — Abbotsford police continue to be on the lookout for traffic infractions across local roads this weekend.

Patrol officers conducted a speed enforcement operation in the Godson Elementary School Zone along Bevan Avenue on Friday, June 12, and caught several drivers speeding.

One driver of note was travelling at 78 km/h in a posted 30 km/h school zone.

Police say the 48-year-old was issued a ticket for excessive speed and had their vehicle seized.
